About the company
Yandex Cloud is a full-featured Russian cloud platform for virtual infrastructure, storage, managed databases, analytics, AI, serverless development and information security.
Key advantage
The platform is particularly strong for projects that closely integrate infrastructure with data, analytics and AI. Teams can use ready-made managed services instead of operating every component themselves.
Four availability zones
The platform supports geographically distributed designs and lets customers replicate critical components across independent facilities.
Broad catalog
Compute, Kubernetes, databases, S3, serverless, DevOps, monitoring, security and resource management are available in one ecosystem.
Data and AI
YDB, Data Processing, DataSphere, AI Studio, SpeechKit, Vision OCR and other services cover the full data and model lifecycle.

- Containers and DevOps: Managed Service for Kubernetes, Container Registry, Managed GitLab, SourceCraft and Managed Prometheus.
- Data platform: managed PostgreSQL, MySQL, ClickHouse, Kafka and OpenSearch, plus YDB, Data Processing and Data Transfer.

Grants and bonuses
New users can receive a starter grant: 4,000 ₽ when registering with a bank card, or 10,000 ₽ for a business account paying by bank transfer. The grant is valid for 60 days, with exclusions for certain services.
Under the Yandex Cloud Boost program, the Start tier provides 50,000 ₽ for six months, while Migrate provides up to 1,000,000 ₽ for two months, architecture consulting, priority support and discounts on selected services.
Terms: starter grant, Yandex Cloud Boost, and promotions and free tier. The amount and availability depend on the country, account type and payment method.
Pricing policy
Yandex Cloud bills by the minute or second, depending on the service. The final bill combines compute, memory, disks, public addresses, operations, storage and outbound traffic.
In the official Compute example, a virtual machine with 2 cores, each with a 20% vCPU share, and 2 GB RAM costs 1,224 ₽ for 720 hours, while a configuration with 2 cores, each with a 100% vCPU share, and 2 GB RAM costs 2,260.80 ₽. Disks and traffic are not included in these examples.
In the Object Storage example, a 20 GB repository with 150,000 read requests costs 47.444 ₽ per month in the standard class after the free allowance is applied.
Calculations: Compute Cloud pricing and Object Storage pricing. Configure budgets and spending alerts in advance for production workloads.
Reviews and operational profile
Yandex Cloud operates in a protected environment spanning four availability zones. This provides a solid foundation for critical systems, but resilience is not automatic: applications, data and load balancing must be correctly distributed across zones.
Broad user rating
On the T-Bank review page, Yandex Cloud has a rating of 4.4 out of 5 from 659 ratings. Positive reviews mention the extensive infrastructure, service quality and convenience of ready-made capabilities.
Specialist sample
On Hosting101, the average rating is 3 out of 5 from 15 reviews. Recurring concerns include price, outbound traffic, interface complexity, unexpected charges and support response times.
The AS200350 network profile shows approximately 211,456 IPv4 addresses and 94 peering relationships. This is a meaningful indicator of an owned cloud network, but it does not describe the performance of a particular VM or service.
The samples differ markedly and some reviews may relate to different use cases and levels of user experience, so ratings should be treated as guidance rather than as technical benchmarks.
Strengths and conclusion
CloudExplorer verdict
Yandex Cloud is a strong choice for teams that need a broad range of managed services, a mature data platform, AI tooling and an architecture spanning four availability zones. It is particularly well suited to complex applications, analytics and enterprise development.
For a simple VPS workload, Yandex Cloud may be more complex and expensive than a specialist hosting provider. Before launch, calculate not only CPU and RAM but also disks, public addresses, operations and outbound traffic, then enable budgets and alerts. With sound financial and architectural controls, the depth of the ecosystem becomes its greatest advantage.
