About the company
Selectel has been developing IT infrastructure since 2008 and serves more than 36,000 customers. The provider combines public cloud, dedicated servers, GPU, storage, managed databases and private solutions across six data centers of its own.
Defining feature
Selectel is particularly useful when cloud resources need to be combined with bare metal, a private segment or on-premises infrastructure. This mix is well suited to high-load, hybrid and regulated systems.
Owned infrastructure
Six company-owned data centers in Moscow, Saint Petersburg and the Leningrad Region, plus a partner facility in Novosibirsk.
Cloud and bare metal
Virtual machines, dedicated and GPU servers, hybrid networking and Direct Connect are available within one environment.
Mature catalog
More than 50 products and services, including Kubernetes, DBaaS, S3, backup, security, monitoring and AI infrastructure.
Sources: the official Selectel website, the cloud service catalog and the cloud servers page.
Services and features
- Servers: cloud VMs, VPS/VDS, dedicated servers, private hosts and GPU instances.
- Containers: Managed Kubernetes, Kubernetes on bare metal and Container Registry.
- Databases: PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, Kafka, ClickHouse, OpenSearch and solutions for 1C.
- Storage: S3, file and block storage, network disks, backup and S3 Vault.
- Networking: load balancers, CDN, global router, Direct Connect and DDoS protection.
- Security: IAM, audit logs, WAF, GOST VPN and certified segments.

Grants and bonuses
New companies and sole proprietors can receive up to 30,000 credits to test cloud services for one month. The grant amount depends on the agreed testing scenario.
Eligible startups can join a program offering 30% cashback for one year, subject to an overall limit of 1,000,000 credits. A separate program for AI projects provides grants of up to 2,000,000 ₽.
Terms: grant for new customers and startup program. Both offers require an application and impose customer-eligibility restrictions.
Pricing policy
Cloud resources are billed hourly. Selectel offers fixed product lines and custom configurations, fractional vCPU allocations, preemptible VMs and a resource-freezing feature.
- Standard Line: from 948.50 ₽ per month.
- HighFreq Line: from 1,809.79 ₽ per month.
- GPU Line: from 21,999.36 ₽ per month.
- Network HDD: 7.28 ₽ per GB per month; network SSD starts at 8.99 ₽ per GB per month.
Cloud servers include 3 TB of traffic per month and L3/L4 protection. The exact total depends on the pool, processor, disks, backups, public IP addresses and additional services.
Prices were taken from the official cloud servers page at the time of review; recalculate the configuration in the control panel before ordering.
Reviews and operational profile
Selectel cloud servers operate across three regions, six availability zones and 17 pools. The combination of multiple facilities, cloud and bare metal makes it possible to build distributed and hybrid architectures without changing providers.
Positive signal
On Hosting101, Selectel has a rating of 4.2 out of 5 from 64 reviews: 40 positive and 24 negative. Users highlight the infrastructure selection, configuration flexibility and the ability to combine different products.
Recurring concerns
Critical reviews mention the complexity of the control panel, the time taken to resolve certain tickets, grant conditions and the difference between the minimum advertised price and the full cost of a configuration.
The primary network metric in this profile refers to AS49505, with approximately 437,760 IPv4 addresses and 193 peering relationships. Selectel also operates other ASNs, including AS50340, so a single autonomous system does not represent the provider's entire network.
The review aggregator represents a limited sample and is not a substitute for independent load testing.
Strengths and conclusion
CloudExplorer verdict
Selectel is one of the most established options for organizations that need more than virtual machines: bare metal, GPU, hybrid networking, managed services and infrastructure designed for Russian security requirements.
Its strengths are company-owned data centers, a choice of locations, a broad hardware selection and the ability to assemble complex infrastructure with one provider. The catalog and control panel may feel excessive for a small project, so prospective customers should price an exact configuration, verify grant terms and account for disks, backups and traffic before launching.
